Test conducted on cement

 There are two major tests conducted on cement:

  1. Field Test
  2. Laboratory test  

    1. Field Tests

    Field tests on cement are carried to know the quality of cement supplied at the site. It gives some idea about cement quality based on colour, touch and feels and other tests.

    1. Laboratory Tests

    Laboratory tests are required to confirm the Indian Standard Specifications. Tests are :

    •  Fineness test, 

    • Standard consistency test

    • Setting time tests, 

    • Soundness tests, 

    • The heat of hydration tests,

    • Chemical composition tests.
